Privacy Policy

CineScore does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no account to create, no sign-up, and no analytics. Your library never reaches a server operated by the developer, because there isn't one.

What CineScore stores, and where

The films and series you add, the scores you give them, your notes, and your watchlist are stored on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, that library is also synced through your own private iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. This uses Apple's CloudKit private database. The data is stored under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and the developer of CineScore cannot see, access, or retrieve it. You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings, under your name → iCloud.

Artwork you have viewed is cached on your device so the app works offline. You can delete it at any time in CineScore under ⋯ → Settings → Clear cached artwork.

Third-party services

The Movie Database (TMDb)

CineScore fetches film and series information, artwork, and cast details from TMDb. When it does, TMDb receives the request — which necessarily includes your IP address — along with what was searched for or looked up. No identifier of you is attached to those requests. See the TMDb Privacy Policy.

JustWatch

Streaming availability shown in CineScore is provided by JustWatch and delivered through TMDb. CineScore sends nothing to JustWatch directly.

CineScore uses no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, and no other third-party tracking software of any kind.

Tracking

CineScore does not track you. It does not collect data for advertising, does not build a profile of you, and does not share any data with data brokers. It never asks for permission to track, because it has nothing to track you with.

Notifications

If you enable release notifications, CineScore schedules them locally on your device based on release dates it has already downloaded. No notification content leaves your device, and no push token is sent to the developer.

Permissions

CineScore does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, health data, or any other sensitive system data.

Children

CineScore is not directed at children under 13, and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Data deletion

Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. To remove the synced copy, open iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, and delete CineScore's data. You can export your library to a JSON file first, from CineScore under ⋯ → Settings → Export library.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. As CineScore collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new practice.
